  • FULL DAY TOUR: SINTRA, CASCAIS & ESTORIL

    We will start the tour with a little walk through the mysterious Pena Park and discover secret caves and trails. Afterwards we will visit National Pena Palace, a marvelous palace from the 19th century that is also one of the most significant examples of the Portuguese architecture from the Romantic period. We will then head to the historical center of Sintra, where you’ll have free time to grab lunch and visit National Sintra Palace. After lunch, we will drive through the natural wonders of Sintra Natural Park, passing by several impressive palaces until we stop at the Roca Cape cliffs – the westernmost point of Continental Europe. Next, you will be taken on a scenic drive along the Atlantic coast; we will stop at the Guincho Beach and afterwards pass by “Boca do Inferno”. Finally, enjoy a leisurely walk along the bay at the glamorous town of Cascais. Drive along the coast to Lisbon passing by Estoril.

Here you can find 2-toed and 3-toed sloths hanging from the trees in the forest canopy above, different types of colourful frogs, blue morpho butterflies, hummingbirds, snakes, toucans and other birds, marching ants, and more! The property is perfect for slow paced walking and enjoying the animals in their natural setting. We won’t be touching the animals but bring your cameras and you can photograph them up close. After our animal discovery walk we will take a short drive to the magical Rio Celeste Waterfall.     Community Service is an important aspect of giving back to the community. We try to instill a sense of global responsibility in all of our students as they explore the world. This optional excursion will allow students to engage in locally based community initiatives. Their time with local children, animals, or the natural environment of the area will earn them 4-5 community involvement hours which can go towards the student’s high school diploma.
