When in Santorini, one must learn and experience how this island came to be. Santorini is a volcanic island group at the central south end of the Cyclades in the Aegean Sea. It is arguably the most famous of the Greek islands and it is renowned for its spectacular sea-filled volcanic caldera. Santorini’s half-moon shaped bay is surrounded by steep, colourful cliffs and spectacular sea views.

Once we arrive at the volcanic bay by boat, we will follow the path to the top of the volcano to Palea Kameni where active craters still gently puff steam. Here we will experience the famous hot springs and mud baths, which were formed as result of volcanic eruptions. In the small bay of Agios Nikolaos the water temperature ranges from 30 to 35 degrees Celsius, as it mixes continuously with the normal sea currents. We will enjoy a therapeutic experience while gazing at the amazing view of the caldera that lies opposite.

You will start by taking a walking tour around Nippos, a small and picturesque village surrounded by white mountains. Nippos is known as an old style, peaceful and quiet village with many churches, with the most famous church in the village being St. George. Work up an appetite before heading over to the taverna where you will get an introduction to all the fresh herbs, vegetables, and olive oils you will be using to create your meals. You will learn about authentic recipes and enjoy a delicious meal that you have created yourself! You will be making crumbled tomatoes on traditional brusquettes (dako), the classic tzatziki, Greek cabbage rolls, stuffed vegetables with rice and herbs (gemista), and the famous Greek salad with feta cheese on top. You will also learn how to make the traditional phyllo dough and sweet Cretan cheese pies filled with myzithra cheese.

Bring your energy and join us for a surfing adventure at the beautiful seaside. Your instructors will demonstrate techniques on how to use your surfboard and how to catch a wave! This exhilarating experience may leave you exhausted, but you’ll never forget the moment you caught your first wave. You will have plenty of time to enjoy surfing or choose to spend the rest of your time relaxing in your lounge chair or floating on your board while taking in the picturesque views.
